What is PPC?
Whether you call it PPC, Pay Per Click or Paid Search, it’s a really effective advertising method used on search engines (Google, Yahoo & MSN here in the UK) where you only pay when the user actually clicks on your advert. The keywords you want to appear for have bid prices that vary due to a number of factors including the amount of competition, quality score elements and search engine you use.

Take this example in the image below, a searcher types in {mens shirts} into Google and your advert comes up in the paid search listings. Your ad reads {All Savile Row Shirts £18 each}. Your customer is already pre-qualified because they wouldn’t have clicked your ad if they didn’t like your price point. You can now see how this fits in with the marketing objective of getting your product to the right person, for the right price.
